War on Women: MC #1

“There is a war on women!”  Yes, that is true, but I’m no talking about a political war.  I’m talking about a strategic attack to undermine the security and confidence of women.  Just look at any magazine cover in a checkout isle:  “Loose 20 lbs”, “How to Stay Young”, “Chin, Boobs, or Butt:  Which Implant is Right for You”.  The last one is my personal fave. Oh my.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know there is unbelievable pressure for women to look or act in a certain way.  The lie is that looking like a Photoshopped picture will bring love and security.  Or if you are under 6 years old like my daughters, that the best thing in life is to be a princess.  Princesses always wear long dresses, marry a prince and live happily ever after.  I never taught her to want to be a princess.  It was in her.  (I don’t have anything against princesses, really.  I am one.)

And that is the point, isn’t it?  We all want to be loved, treasured, and told we are beautiful.  What little girl doesn’t want to be in a fairy tale?  We want to be the princess, have a prince love us madly enough to give his life for us, fight and slay the evil enemy and then live happily ever after together.  Amazing and true.

Mommie, you are that princess.  God made you while you were in your mother’s womb.  He knit you together perfectly for your path and destiny. His Son loved you with such a passion that He gave His life for you.  He fought the enemy, beat him utterly and waits to be united with you.  You will live with Him, happily ever after, forever.

Yes, there is a war on women, but Jesus won. You are known and passionately loved, Mommie.  Find your security and confidence in Him.

Mommie Commandment #1

You shall know and love who you are (God does!).

“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priest to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen!”  Revelation 1:5b-6
